4 février 2019 : Le pape François et cheikh Ahmed AL TAYEB, grand imam sunnite de l'institut égyptien Al-Azhar, signent une déclaration commune sur la "fraternité humaine" à l'issue de la conférence internationale avec des dignitaires religieux chrétiens, musulmans et juifs, réunis au Mémorial du fondateur à Abou Dhabi aux Emirats arabes unis.
